“What do you think?” He showed her his sign, tall letters in bad calligraphy.
Crash chuckled. “That plus sign kinda looks like a cross which, you know, might send the wrong message.”
He investigated the sign with a frown. It read “bots † humans = ❤”
“Dang it,” he said.
“I don’t understand why you have to do it by hand,” she said, turning to him the large screen she was holding. “I made mine look nice using graphic tools.”
Her sign read “Marriage equality.” It was spelled in large round letters against a background containing every color of the rainbow, plus a few more.
“I want to make it my own,” he said, trying to erase the lower end of the cross.
Crash watched him. She knew he had a synthetic heart and a virtual brain, but sometimes he felt more human than her. She smiled and helped him.
